The Carson City Fire Department, however, has no intention at this time of lifting fire restrictions within the city limits.

The Nevada Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting to provide updates on construction of the USA Parkway extension on Thursday, Aug. 11.
The USA Parkway was originally constructed as a privately built, six-mile-long road connecting Interstate 80 to the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center east of Sparks.

Fire restrictions implemented in Carson City and throughout region, fireworks prohibited

In addition, the Carson City Fire Department has now implemented fire restrictions on city and privately owned lands within Carson City.
Thunderstorms developing south of Carson City
Submitted by editor on Tue, 06/28/2016 - 6:04pmThe National Weather Service advises thunderstorms are moving into the region early Tuesday evening bringing the possibility of a half inch of hail and wind gusts of up to 55 mph.
At 5:36 p.m. the weather service Doppler radar was tracking the thunderstorms over the Eastern Sierra and Western Nevada, mainly south of Highway 50, prompting a Special Weather Statement.
