To get a good look at the viewing, venture up through Highway 88 from Woodfords to Caples Lake. Another good area of fall color viewing is from Woodfords on Highway 89 up to Kinney reservoir on Highway 4 .

Largest single day COVID-19 spike reported in the Quad-County area with 37 new cases

This brings the total number of cases to 1,453, with 1,277 recoveries and 17 deaths, 159 cases remain active.

Lions Club kicks off its annual “White Cane Days” Saturday and Sunday in Carson City to increase awareness of the white cane traffic safety laws, and collect used eyeglasses for distribution to those in need. Local business Wizard of Pawz grooming salon hosts a socially-distanced grand opening on Saturday afternoon, followed by a pool tournament at Bulldog Billiards at 6 p.m. Combined with live music and karaoke, the state capitol will be packed with excitement! Lions Club kicks off Annual 'White Cane Days' in Carson City Oct. 10 and 11

Forest Service issues temporary closure order for Lake Tahoe's Taylor Creek

Nevada governor proclaims Vegas Strong Day; orders flags lowered in honor of shooting victims
