I Love Carson City’s Weekend Event Summary: May 19-20
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Fri, 05/18/2018 - 3:23pmIt’s going to be a chili weekend, and that has nothing to do with the weather. The annual Chili on the Comstock Competition takes over the tiny town of Virginia City, including a saloon crawl Saturday and the hilarious ‘Fun with the Runs’ 5K. Families will have a hard time choosing between the Cops and Kids Open House and Safety Fair at the Sheriff’s Office and the ‘Kids to Parks’ Day activities at Silver Saddle Ranch. Keep reading, and I apologize in advance for throwing so many great options your way.

Submitted by Danielle Cook on Thu, 04/07/2016 - 3:17amFeeling spicy? The weekend is almost here, so step out of your normal routine and try salsa lessons at El Charro Avita. If you’re in the mood to lounge and relax, crooner Jimmy Clifton at Living the Good Life pairs nicely with a martini. Red’s Old 395 has an incredible happy hour with half off draft beers today and a yummy menu. Rack ‘em up at Remedy’s free pool night. America’s favorite past time returns as the Reno Aces host opening night; someone buy me some Cracker Jack.

Thursday, September 3: Things to do in Carson City
Submitted by Danielle Cook on Thu, 09/03/2015 - 5:23amFeel like dancing, Carson City? Living the Good Life has gone country for the evening with DJ Bobby G spinning your favorite western songs. If you need to brush up on your line dancing skills, Beercade is the place to go for free lessons. It takes two to tango, but you don’t need a partner to learn to salsa at El Charro Avita tonight. If you’re more song and less dance, you can choose from Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar or the Feisty Goat Pub for karaoke. Fandango kicks off a month of Throwback Thursdays tonight with crooner Rick Radecki singing hits from yesteryear.
THURSDAY:
- Fall 2015 Back to School week at Western Nevada College; go here for a list of activites
- Victor Sandblom's "Wind on the Sea, Tracks in the Sand" at the Western Nevada College Main Gallery in the Bristlecone Building
