Carson Victory Rollers to host back to school charity scrimmage

On Sunday, August 22, 2021, the Carson City Victory Rollers will hold our own Back to School Bash, Open Charity Scrimmage. This scrimmage is open to all skaters who have passed minimum skills testing. Please bring both black and white to play. The cost for guest skaters and spectators is $5.

24-Hour Agony Ride Fundraiser to Benefit At-Risk Youth This Friday

Christian Encounter Ranch of Grass Valley, Calif., will hold its annual Agony Ride Fundraiser this Friday and Saturday, July 26th and 27th, in the Sierra Valley (about 1 hour northwest of Carson City off of Highway 70). During the event, cyclists commit to riding their bicycles as far as they can in 24 hours and are sponsored on a per-mile or flat rate basis.

Local rider Christopher Palmer, of Washoe Valley, will be riding for the 7th time this year. To date, he's ridden a total 1910 miles and raised more than $17,000 for the ministry.

RISE Dispensaries rallies behind Carson City's Do Drop In, Rural Center for Independent Living

Last month, RISE Dispensaries, a Carson City marijuana dispensary, held a fundraiser and paper goods drive to benefit the Rural Center for Independent Living.

Hopefest8 at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center is a free concert featuring folk/pop singer, Tyrone Wells, bringing awareness and raising funds for local patient resources. The grand prize of their raffle is a brand-new car, so good luck. It’s a birthday bash at Living the Good Life. Wish proprietress, Gina, many happy returns and groove to the sounds of the Trippin’ King Snakes.

It’s a very special Friday for the kids of Carson City: it’s the last day of summer vacation. Take full advantage of your free time and check out some of today’s activities. Live music at McFadden Plaza tonight features local cover band, Deception. The Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival kicks off tonight with a band in the Davis Creek Campground. The U.S. Air Force’s Jazz Ensemble performs at the Bob Boldrick Theater as part of the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival. Free tickets have been available at the Chamber of Commerce for a few weeks, and if any are left, their numbers will be limited.

Carson High returning students are invited to the Senator Kick-off this morning to get their fill of back-to-school updates. Families will love the Movie in the Park; bring a blanket or chairs and come prepared to enjoy ‘Coco.’ Three days of high-flying fun begins today at Heritage Park in Gardnerville as the Splash Dogs competition gets underway. You will always find live music around town on Fridays, but during the Jazz and Beyond Festival, it seems like music is everywhere.

CTH Auxiliary Hosts Annual Benefit Rummage Sale

The Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary hosts a rummage sale Friday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, May 3, 8 a.m. to noon at the Eagles Lodge, 1380 E. 5th St. (between Roop and Saliman streets) in Carson City.

Donations for the sale are also needed. Items can be taken to the Eagles Lodge, Wednesday, April 30 and Thursday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Auxiliary members will be there to accept your donations. NO LARGE APPLIANCES, COMPUTERS, OR EXERCISE EQUIPMENT PLEASE!

Carson City Host Lions 14th Annual Crab Feed

Carson City Host Lions presents our 14th Annual Crab Feed Charity Fundraiser on Friday, March 7, 2014.
Dinner includes all the crab you can eat, plus BBQ tri-tip, BBQ chicken, salad, garlic bread, and ice cream for dessert at the Fuji Park Events Building on Old Clear Creek Rd.

No host cocktails at 6:00 PM, dinner served at 7:00 PM and live band with dancing 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM.

Charity fundraiser at Touched by Angels

On Saturday October 19th Touched by Angels, 108 E. John St., will be celebrating their one year anniversary.

On this day all profits will be donated to local charities. Joining in are the members of the Elks club who will be selling food, drinks, and also donating proceeds to charity. Toiletry Tuesday - A Rescue Campaign Event

Our purpose is to meet basic needs and provide assistance through existing and future services such as: the Rescue Bag toiletries project, Pie to the Rescue and a local scholarship program.

Fundraiser for Julian

Julian, 5, is diagnosed with cerebral palsy and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy that is difficult to treat. He has many different types of seizures multiple times a day. The journey to control his seizures has been difficult and on-going. The fundraiser will help raise money for alternative medicine that is not covered by health insurance. The fundraiser is free, and includes music, food, beer, wine, balloon twisting, and face painting. There will also be a silent auction from 6 -8 p.m. with great prizes. Everyone in the community is invited and encouraged to attend.

Comstock Classic of Virginia City, 1st Annual Car Show

Join us as Virginia City's Car Club hosts their first annual Car Show. Its OPEN to all Vehicles and Bikes. $20 entry which includes a dash plaque.
Music, Raffle prizes and food will be offered during the event. All proceeds from the car show will be donated to St Paul's Episcopal Church(Virginia City) Electrical Fund as their buildings electrical is in need of major repairs at this time.
