The Carson Comedy Club at the Carson Nugget in Carson City presents the comedic stylings of Adam Stone this Friday, Sept. 15.

"Have fun, give fun" is the motto which embodies the comedy of Hawaiian native Stone. With an intent to truly embrace the moment and connect with people, Adam gets the audience laughing with well-crafted material, physical comedy, improvisation, and silly impressions, all through an onstage persona that is endearing and likeable.

One might think that after Labor Day, it starts to get quiet around here. They would be mistaken. September is chock-full of adventure, starting with this weekend’s Virginia City International Camel Races and the Great Reno Balloon Races. You won’t want to miss the last of the Third Street Stage Concerts in McFadden Plaza: Shane Dwight is tonight’s featured performer. It’s the last day to see the Photography and Regular Art Show at the Nevada Artists Association Gallery, they’ll have their new Autumn Show on display Sunday.

Labor Day weekend usually signifies the end of summer. Give it one heck of a send-off: the downtown Carson wine walk, rib cook-off in Sparks, Virginia City's Civil War Days, and the Heavenly Days carnival, music festival and car show in South Lake Tahoe are but a few of your options. Tonight, Improv at the Brewery Arts Center will get the belly laughs going. Unwind with some live music at Living the Good Life or some karaoke at the Spoke Bar and Grill. Artisan Gail Rogers is the featured guest at tonight's Carson City Art Gallery reception.

Congrats, Carson kids, you've just about survived the first week of school. Families can celebrate with a concert in Minden Park that will be filled with the music of Credence Clearwater Survival. Adults will enjoy an outdoor concert at Living the Good Life with Mo'z Motley Blues Band - just make sure to wish the proprietress a happy birthday. Fallon might be a few miles away, but their Cantaloupe Festival, Carnival, and Country Fair is sure to make up for the drive with delicious offerings and a fun country tribute concert.

Let's kick off the weekend with a street party, or two. The HopeFest Concert at the Carson Tahoe Medical Center is a family friendly celebration. Grab something from a food truck, enter their raffle, and get your groove on. The music doesn't stop when the sun goes down though. You've got your choice of Deception at Living the Good Life, or Mentally Spent on the Third Street Stage in McFadden Plaza. Douglas County has Summerfest in Minden Park: live music, yummy eats, and a come-as-you-are car show sure to get Carson Valley hoppin.

Summer nights are made to be enjoyed. Grab the kids, a blanket and picnic, and head to the park nearest you. Mills Park in Carson City features its first ever ‘Movie in the Park’ tonight with a showing of ‘Sing’. Gardnerville’s last of the season movie is Disney’s ‘Moana.’ Dancing shoes are recommended, but not required, for this week’s outdoor concert in McFadden Plaza: Musicole begins at 7:30 p.m. Get there early to see the amazing talent in 'We Rock Kidz' on the stage in Comma Coffee's Courtyard. The Carson Comedy Club at the Carson Nugget presents Mary Kennedy this Friday at the Carson Comedy Club. A professional actress, you can see her as the new recurring character New Fiona on Shameless Season 7. She will be seen in the feature Shattered, release date 2017. She costars in a feature film Creative Differences. Was a featured mom commentator on The Mom Rules webseries and did the pilot, for Nickelodeons new network, NickMOM called road mamas which she also co-created. You can also see her comic acting regularly and various sketches for CONAN.

The Silver Dollar Car Classic is throwing a party in the front parking lot of the Max Casino – plenty of hot rods, shiny chrome, and great music by Route 66 is in store. The 14th Annual Jazz and Beyond Music Festival opens tonight with a Garden Party at the historic Bliss Mansion across from the Governor’s Mansion. Another summer weekend has arrived. The Carson City Fair will be open all day, but tonight is something special. The Bulls, Broncs, and Barrels Rodeo takes over the Fuji Park Arena. The GE Family Concert Series in Minden kicks off tonight with Garratt Wilkin and The Parrotheads; you’ll want to bring a jacket, it’s still gets chilly once the sun goes down.

Laughter will be in overdrive this Friday at the Carson Comedy Club with funnyman headliner Dan St. Paul taking the Carson City standup stage.

The Carson Nugget turns up the electricity for Memorial Day weekend, announcing the first concert in their 2017 Summer Concert Series, Volt: A Salute to AC/DC.

Powering up Sunday, May 28, VOLT: A Salute to AC/DC is a hard-hitting, high energy rock band based out of Livermore, Calif, specializing in the music of AC/DC and performances of the albums Back in Black and Powerage, Live.

The Carson Comedy Club will feature the hilarious comedy stylings of Milt Abel, who will headline Friday night's Carson City show at the Carson Nugget.

And just like that, the mercury has slid back down the thermometer. You'll want to have a jacket handy for the RSVP Spring Celebration Carnival at Mills Park, but otherwise, most of this evening's fun takes place indoors. Only four shows remain if you'd like to see Western Nevada Musical Theater Company's production of 'Nice Work If You Can Get It.' Carson Comedy continues our new comedy series at the Brewery Arts Center, Carson City’s premiere epicenter for the arts since 1976 with a Friday night performance featuring comedian Chris Franjola.

Chris is a writer/comedian who began his comedy career on Long Island. Chris was a writer and a regular performer on E!’s hit show “Chelsea Lately" for 8 years.

Together with the talented writing staff, Chris wrote over 1500 episodes while performing on the show more than anyone else besides Chelsea Handler and Chuy.
