Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 that there has been a significant increase in positive cases over the last week. Since Nov. 16, 2020, CCHHS has received over 1,000 positive results for the Quad-County region. Due to the high volume of cases, not all positive cases have been contacted. CCHHS is working to investigate the cases and reduce the back log in positive results.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020. The individual was a Carson City resident. CCHHS is also reporting 35 new cases and 36 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 2,993, with 2,219 recoveries and 33 deaths; 741 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020 that there are 38 new cases and 32 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 2,958, with 2,183 recoveries and 32 deaths; 743 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting three additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. Two of the individuals were Lyon County residents and one was a Carson City resident.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 that there are 42 new cases and 46 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 2,835, with 2,094 recoveries and 27 deaths; 714 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 that there are 55 new cases and 40 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. Nineteen of these additional 55 new cases are from the Warm Springs Correctional Facility in Carson City. This brings the total number of cases to 2,793, with 2,048 recoveries and 27 deaths; 718 cases remain active.

Due to the great demand for COVID-19 symptomatic testing in our area, and to help manage the influx of COVID cases, Carson Tahoe is providing symptomatic testing at two convenient locations. This service is reserved is for people experiencing COVID-like symptoms such as; fever, cough, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, and sore throat.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020 that there are 45 new cases and 35 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. Twenty of these additional new cases are from the Warm Springs Correctional Facility in Carson City. This brings the total number of cases to 2,738, with 2,008 recoveries and 27 deaths; 703 cases remain active.

The Quad County area (specifically Carson City) is still seeing a significant rise in COVID-19 cases, and we are continuing to see a surge in hospitalizations as well.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 that there are 55 new cases and 25 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. Twenty-three of these additional 55 new cases are from the Warm Springs Correctional Facility in Carson City. This brings the total number of cases to 2,693, with 1,973 recoveries and 27 deaths; 693 cases remain active.

MINDEN, Nev. — The Nevada COVID Task Force notified Douglas County that they are flagged for elevated COVID-19 disease transmission. Douglas County saw a spike in infection rates back in July, but then numbers declined for several months.

With an increased risk for COVID-19 transmission, Carson City Health and Human Services is encouraging residents to avoid attending or hosting Thanksgiving gatherings with those outside of your household and utilizing lower risk activities to celebrate the holiday with those outside of your household.

Carson City Health and Human Services is announcing a new phone number for the Quad-County COVID-19 Hotline. Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 17 the phone number will be (775) 434-1988.

The Nevada COVID Task Force has notified Lyon County that they are to remain flagged for elevated COVID test positivity rates. October 12, 2020 Lyon County saw a test positivity of 8.2 percent and has experienced an increase week after week since then. As of Monday, Lyon County sits at a rate of 19.0 percent.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Sunday, Nov 15, 2020 that there are 369 new cases and 26 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. Of these 369 new cases, 343 are offenders in the Warm Springs Correctional Facility. This brings the total number of cases to 2,638, with 1,948 recoveries and 27 deaths; 663 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services reported Saturday that there are 25 new cases and 18 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 2,269, with 1,922 recoveries and 27 deaths; 320 cases remain active.

As part of a regular testing protocol, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak underwent routine COVID-19 testing on Friday, November 13 in Carson City. A rapid test provided a positive result. The Governor also received a diagnostic PCR test and those results are pending at this time.

At this time, the Governor is not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. Earlier this week, the Governor expressed feeling fatigue, however he attributed this to his demanding schedule. No other symptoms were experienced.

Lyon County has been flagged for more than two weeks with an elevated disease transmission.

Lyon County has experienced five weeks of COVID test positivity higher than 8 percent of people tested and a cases rate per 100,000 population greater than two hundred.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020 that there are 34 new cases and 25 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 2,219, with 1,892 recoveries and 27 deaths; 300 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020 that there are 22 new cases and 26 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 2,185, with 1,867 recoveries and 27 deaths; 291 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individual was a Carson City resident. CCHHS is also reporting 21 new cases and 15 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Sunday, Nov 8, 2020, that there are 15 new cases and 17 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 2,142, with 1,826 recoveries and 26 deaths; 290 cases remain active.

We are reporting a possible COVID-19 reinfection in the Quad-County Region. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines a reinfection as someone who was infected once, recovered, and then become infected again 90 or more days after the first positive result.

The Carson City School District is pleased to announce Mark Twain Elementary School will resume in-person instruction with teachers and students beginning next week. Teachers and employees are expected to return Monday, Nov. 9, to conduct remote lessons, and students in specific grade levels and assigned cohorts are expected to return beginning Tuesday, Nov. 10, for in-person learning.

CCHHS is also reporting 38 new cases and 23 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,999, with 1,783 recoveries and 29 deaths; 190 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020 an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individual was a Douglas County resident. CCHHS is also reporting 24 new cases and 9 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,961, with 1,760 recoveries and 25 deaths; 176 cases remain active.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020 an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individual was a Lyon County resident.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Monday, Nov. 2, 2020 that there are 26 new cases and 26 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,916, with 1,732 recoveries and 23 deaths; 161 cases remain active.

Douglas County was notified on Nov. 1, 2020 that a Douglas County employee who has been involved in the election processes, tested positive for COVID-19. Douglas County has worked closely with Carson City Health and Human Services on contact tracing related to the positive case.
