The forum is hosted by the League of Women Voters of Northern Nevada, Sierra Nevada Forums, American Association of University Women and Partnership Carson City. The public is invited to attend.

Job seekers invited to employment fair Friday at the Carson City Community Center

Sponsored by Carson City Health and Human Services, Job Opportunities in Nevada (JOIN), and the Carson City Chamber of Commerce the Sept. 26 fair, located in the large gym of the community center at 851 East William Street, is open to the general public and all job seekers. Veterans will be able to enter the Job Fair at 1:30 p.m. for early admission.

Carson City's unemployment declines slightly in August; job fair set for Sept. 26
Submitted by editor on Fri, 09/19/2014 - 8:50amCarson City's unemployment rate fell slightly to 7.5 percent in August along with Nevada's overall unemployment rate which also dipped to 7.6 percent, the lowest since August 2008 and down 2.2 points from a year ago, the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reports Friday.

Residents get glimpse of coming changes to downtown Carson City landscape

The improvements, made public during two workshops at the Carson City Community Center, will be funded through sales tax revenues, one-eighth of a cent, approved earlier this by the Carson City Board of Supervisors.

Youth Theatre Carson City to hold Thursday workshop and Saturday auditions for Annie, Jr.

Local churches unite for worship event tonight in Carson City

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and several local ministries will be on hand to share the work that is being done in our community. This is the third Engage event in Carson City and momentum has continued to grow with each event.

Carson City Symphony to begin rehearsals for 31st concert season
Submitted by editor on Thu, 08/21/2014 - 9:49amAttention musicians: The Carson City Symphony will begin rehearsals for the 2014-15 concert season on Wednesday, August 27, 7:00 to 9:15 p.m., at the Carson High School band room.
The Symphony, conducted by David Bugli, is a volunteer orchestra of about 55 players who perform music from the 15th to 21st centuries. It is open to string players at any time without audition, and to other instrumentalists when positions are available. Current openings are for strings and horn. Musicians who are interested in joining should contact the Symphony at 775-883-4154.
