This Veterans Day, RISE Carson City, Carson City’s first medical cannabis dispensary, is giving back in a big way. 10% of all sales this Friday, November 11th will be donated to Northern Nevada Veteran’s Resource Center.

“As a Vet and a registered medical cannabis patient, it’s incredible to be part of a team that cares so much about the community, particularly the Veteran community. It hits home and it means a lot,” said RISE Assistant Manager Brian Church.

Medical cannabis will soon be available to qualified patients in Carson City and surrounding rural counties who cannot make the trips to Reno or Las Vegas for their medicinal needs.

An officer who could smell marijuana smoke that came from a vehicle near a public park resulted in the arrest Wednesday of two people, a Carson City sheriff deputy said.

An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday on felony suspicion of burglary and grand larceny after allegedly breaking into vehicles and then stealing a Lexus.
