CARSON CITY — Set for Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at Fritsch Elementary School, the Bicycle Fun & Safety Day will benefit the Carson City Schools Foundation. Sponsored by Carson Tahoe Health and hosted by the Carson City School District, the Nevada Department of Transportation, Safe Routes to School, local bike clubs and shops, the inaugural event will serve as a proving ground to acquaint experienced and less experienced bike riders with their eco-friendly transport mechanisms.

Wednesday's Denim Day recognized during Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month

Along with Sexual Assault Awareness & Child Abuse Prevention Month recognized through April, Wednesday, April 24 is the 20th anniversary of Denim Day.

For 20 years, the organization Peace Over Violence has organized Denim Day, a rape prevention education campaign, during which community members, elected officials, businesses, and students are encouraged to make a social statement with their fashion choices on this day by wearing jeans as a visible means of protest against misconceptions that surround sexual assault.

Public review of South Carson Roundabout, Complete Streets workshop today at Adam’s Hub Studio

Today, Friday April 12, a public review and workshop regarding the new South Carson Street project, including a new roundabout, is being held at the Studio at Adam’s Hub from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., located at 177 W Proctor Street.

The 60 percent roundabout design along with surrounding design elements will be on display, and forms for public can be found for residents to voice their opinions about the designs.
