Senator Square: First week of school a blast at Carson High School

Carson High School Principal Gavin Ward stood at the north entrance high-fiving students as they entered high school, some of them for the first time. In fact, counselors, teachers, and other administrators stood at each of the school entrances welcoming students to the best high school in the state, hyperbole aside.

The "Best of Cruise" at last week's Carson City Thursday Night Cruise at Wingstop on South Carson Street went to Ray with his 1940 Ford Deluxe 4 door sedan. Organizers note there were 85 cars and trucks participating in the June 27, 2019 vehicle cruise.

Nevada Rural Community Partners hosts third annual Carson City Trunk n' Treat

Join Nevada Rural Community Partners for its third annual Trunk n' Treat celebration, Saturday, Oct. 13, 6 to 9 p.m. at Bully's Sports Bar in Carson City.

Children, families and the entire community are invited to the free event, and are encouraged to participate by decorating vehicles and joining in on the fun for a minimal entry fee of $10. Trophies are awarded for the best decorated vehicle, and goodie bags are provided to the little ghosts and goblins

Let's cruise Carson City. The next Thursday Night Cruise is June 21 at Bully's Sports Bar in Carson City from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Earlier this month, on Thursday, June 7 there were 98 cars, and on June 14, 75 cars.

Patrons who bring the fundraiser ticket will have 15% of their check donated to Carson High Speech and Debate for their upcoming trip to Nationals this June. The fundraiser ticket also includes a 10% discount on a future visit to Bully's.

Saddle Up For KIds Event a Success

Food For Thought would like to think all the people who came out and supported us at our Saddle Up For Kids Events. Friday, June 28th’s dinner at the Governor’s Mansion and Saturday, June 29th’s Carnival at Mills Park wouldn’t have been as successful if not for our volunteers!

Carson City Search and Rescue hosts Geocache Adventure

Carson City geocachers get ready. Saturday, April 27 is your day. The Geocache Adventure, a second-annual event hosted by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit, will provide a day's worth of searching for participants and $1,000 in prizes.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. with a 10 a.m. start time. The gathering will meet at Bully's Sports Bar and Grill, 3530 N Carson Street. Cost: Kids under 15: $12 Adults: $20 Team of 4 any age: $60
