Book Sale

In recognition of the 75th anniversary of the Nevada State Museum, Carson City, the public is encouraged and cordially invited to attend a day of honor filled with special events, Friday, Oct.28, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.

I don’t mean to make this hard on you, but you have some decisions to make. All day, all night, all weekend long, there are numerous activities throughout our area. Take a good look at the list, grab your friends, family, and kids, and have a great weekend. The Experimental Aircraft Association is hosting the Ford Tri-Motor this weekend, and has Young Eagles flights for the kids: registration and orientation is at 8 a.m. Head over to Eagle Valley Golf for free family golf day.

BIG book sales ahead at the Browsers Corner book Store. The first one is Saturday, June 13. It is a parking lot sale, and runs from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. Lowest prices of the year:
— Hardcover - 50 cents
— Paperbacks - 25 cents
— Children’s books - 10 cents

There will also be sales on Monday, June 15 and again on Saturday, June 20. Everything in the book store will be half off! An additional 10 percent discount for members of the Friends of the Library on Monday, June 15.

The bookstore is across the street from the Carson City Library at 711 East Washington Street.

One Day Only! End of the Month blow out book sale. Saturday, May 30th from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm. Everything in the Bargain Room will sell for $1:00 a bag (we provide the bags). This includes hardcover and paperback books, videos, books on tape, records, sheet music, craft books, etc. Come early and fill up the bags.

The Browsers Corner Book Store is having a big St. Patrick's Day book sale from Monday, March 16 through Saturday, March 21. EVERYTHING in the book store will be sold at half price.
The sale includes all hard cover and paperback books, DVDs, videos and special items. In addition, members of the Friends of the Library will receive an extra 10 percent off on Monday, March 16th if they bring in their membership card. The book store is located at 711 East Washington Street in Carson City and is open from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Admission for adults on Friday evening is only $2 and includes a raffle ticket as well as re-entry privileges on Saturday.

Caden Lehman, a senior at Carson High School, an officer for the Capitol FFA program, and an officer in the Douglas-Carson High School Rodeo Club, recently had his biggest win doing what he loves. He is involved in Team Roping and Calf Roping and is a member of the American Cowboys Team Roping Association. 

Recently at the ACTRA National Finals in Reno at the Livestock Events Center, Caden won the Super 7 National Championship, landing him and his partner, Jack Curry of Gardnerville, each new Royal T 3-horse trailers, buckles, and $10,000 cash. 

The Browsers Corner Book Store will hold its biggest book sale of the year beginning Friday. Everything will be for sale at half price for more than a week - from Friday, August 29 through Saturday, Sept. 6. The store is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. On Saturday, August 30 the sale will spill over onto the parking lot.

Members of the Friends of the Library will receive an extra 10 percent discount on Friday, August 29 only - they must bring their membership card to receive a discount. All proceeds benefit the Carson City Library.

Fizz! Boom! Read! And Spark a Reaction this summer at the Carson City Library and discover the amazing world of science. The 2014 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours, a reading club, and more.

There is a Read-to-Me portion of the program that families are invited to join as well. Registration for the Summer Reading Program has begun and continues this Saturday, June 14th, at the annual Kiwanis Breakfast for Books. The pancake breakfast will take place on the library lawn from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.

Don't miss Carson City Library's 2014 Pancake Breakfast, Saturday, June 14, from 8 am to 10 am. Sign the kids up for the summer reading program and receive a goody bag. Book Sale with Friends, Face Painting, Fun in the Sun.

The pancake breakfast will be held on the front lawn of the library. Tickets cost $15 family; $6 adult; and $3 for 12 and under. This annual event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Carson City.

The Browsers Corner Book Store is having a parking lot book sale on Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sale prices will be $1 for hardcover books and 50 cents for paperbacks. We will also have videos for 10 cents each. After 4:00 pm everything will go for $1 a bag.

Just in a very large donation of history and military history books which will be included in the sale.

Douglas County Library hosts its annual Spring Book Sale, featuring more than 15,000 titles May 16 through May 18 at the C.V.I.C. Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave. in Minden.
Everyone is invited and Friends of the Library receive a 15 percent discount all weekend. There will be lots of signed books at reasonable prices,with more than 50 categories to choose from, including children's, fiction, art, nonfiction,and technical.

With fall around the corner, now's the time to pick up some good books for those cool night readings. The Friends of the Carson City Library will hold its Harvest Book Sale beginning Thursday Sept. 9 through Saturday, Sept. 11. at the library, 900 N. Roop Street.
