ALMANOR LAKE, CALIF:
Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association (530-365-7500) (www.shastacascade.com) reports:
The ramps at Canyon Dam, the USFS at Almanor and Rec. 1 and 2 ramps are operational. Trolling the east basin has been the better bet. Some coves are starting to ice over.

Outdoors with Don Q: Two fishing derbies in the region

If you are a serious fisherman and are interested in winning some money, be advised that there are not one, but two fishing derbies coming up in the very near future in this area.
One of the derbies is the Lake Davis (California) Spring Fishing Derby which will be held on Saturday, June 15.
The other one is a "Wide Open" Derby which will be held at Topaz Lake on Saturday-Sunday, June 15-16.

2013 Sierra Nevada Bass Club's Opens And Club Tournaments

Event Date:
March 7, 2013 - 7:00pm The Sierra Nevada Bass Club will sponsor 2 Opens and 9 more Bass Tournaments in 2013. The Club meets normally the 1st Thursday of each month at Scheels at 7PM in their conference rooms.
