CCAI Industrial Art at the Library

The show, previously at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery, will be available at the Library through November 19.
The Library will host a public reception for Industrial Art on Friday, October 2, 3:30-5pm in honor of Manufacturer's Month [October]. The Library’s MT1 training room and the Digitorium will also feature students’ manufacturing activities during the open house event.
Firefighting done, Guard helicopters return to Nevada

Vintage aircraft at Carson City Airport Sunday to mark end of WWII
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 08/26/2015 - 9:13amThe Carson City Airport will have a number of vintage airplanes on display this Sunday, Aug. 30 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for an event to celebrate the end of World War II.
Cactus Air Force Wings and Wheels Museum will have several pieces of vintage aircraft at the airport. The community is invited to this free event to mark the 70th anniversary of the end to World War II. Among the aircraft is a WWII era TBM avenger fly as well as plenty of other planes and vehicles from both WWII as well as Vietnam.

The Minden-Tahoe Airport is the home to Aviation Roundup Air Show this weekend. You won’t want to miss the USAF Thunderbird Flight Team. Also on some fierce wheels this Sunday are the Carson Victory Rollers. Our roller derby team is hosting a scrimmage and collecting donations of school supplies at the Community Center.

An aviation air show at the Minden Airport, the coin show and fair at the Nevada State Museum, and a fishing derby for the kids at Little Washoe Lake are only the tip of the iceberg. The Pavilion at Mills Park is where you’ll find the annual Carson High Football Boosters Fundraising BBQ. The Quicksilver Dog Agility Trials are always fun to watch, and they’ll be at Fuji Park all weekend. Carson Lanes has family fun indoors and out all day long during their Bowling Blast-off.

Silver Springs Airport Dedication

With these funds, the Silver Springs airport was able to increase the size of the taxiway and rehabilitate the runway.
These two improvements are vital to the overall master plan to the airport and further enables economic growth and aviation needs to the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center.

Carson City Airport Announces 2015 Open House Event
Submitted by Rachel Spacek on Mon, 06/08/2015 - 3:40pmWith hopes of generating enthusiasm among young people and using themes of robotics, aviation and aerospace to do it, Carson City Airport's annual open house returns to the skies above the capital city on Saturday, June 20, after a year hiatus.
More than 6,000 visitors attended the event in 2013. This year’s open house, which runs from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., is free to the public. Activities will feature interactive displays, flybys, plane and helicopter demonstrations, robotics demonstrations, food and beverages, bounce house and many more family activities.

Reno man who used private plane to transport marijuana gets 2 years in prison
