Carson City braces for fourth storm in series; NHP trooper injured in morning accident

A third punch of snow overnight in Carson City brought a few spinouts, minor accidents, downed power lines and traffic delays this morning. In one accident, a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper sustained injuries after a car lost control and slid into his parked SUV.

A 24-yard final field goal by Carson Senator Austin Pacheco in overtime, his third one of the night, brought home yet another victory for the Carson City high school football team, reports Carsonsports.com.
Pacheco's winning kick was the difference as the Carson High football team kept its undefeated season record intact with a thrilling 16-13 victory against arch rival Douglas on Friday night.

Woman faces felony charges in July 21 crash near Dayton

The Nevada Highway Patrol reports today that it has booked a 21-year-old woman on charges related to a July 21 head-on accident on Highway 50 west of Dayton.
Occupants of both vehicles were transported to Renown Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained in the accident. The occupants of the Dodge van were all discharged from Renown, the NHP reports.

A Carson City couple face criminal charges of child endangerment after authorities found a baby crawling around in an apartment filled with trash, moldy food, pet and chinchilla excrement.
Katherine Denise Martin, 20 and Grant Austin, 21, each faces gross misdemeanor child neglect and endangerment charges after Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies made the May 28 discovery at the College Parkway apartment. Bail has been set at $2,500 each.

Senators surge to win against Vikings' ace

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE -- When Austin Pacheco launched an RBI double to straightaway center field, the Carson High baseball team made a statement that it wasn't intimidated by South Tahoe ace pitcher Max De Lallo.
De Lallo got in his licks, but so did CHS as it rolled to its second straight victory over South Tahoe in an 11-6 win on Thursday. Adam Whitt started on the mound and pitched four solid innings and Cameron Mayville added four RBI for Carson.
