Born in Bronxville, NY on September 18, 1930, Betty was raised in Scarsdale, NY, spending all of her childhood summers in Orient Point, NY. Betty attended Scarsdale High and graduated from Dana Hall preparatory school. She attained a B.A. Degree in Mathematics at Vassar College. It was there that she was better known by her classmates as “Betty Boop.”
Carson City high school seniors earn nearly $1.5 Million in scholarships

Their accomplishments were celebrated in an awards ceremony May 17 at Senator Square at the high school, which highlighted the academic success of the Class of 2018.

Expansion at Carson City school prompts student art removal, plans to reunite artist and work
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 05/14/2018 - 8:58amCARSON CITY — With the addition of two new educational wings at Fremont Elementary School, expected completion by fall 2019, nearly 100 pieces of student artwork, which previously decorated the walls of the corridors, will be removed and hopefully reunited with their creators or family members. The alumni pieces date back as early as 1994, are neatly framed and range from kindergartners to fifth graders.

Beuys explained that only art is capable of building an effective social system, and “This most modern art discipline — Social Sculpture/Social Architecture — will only reach fruition when every living person becomes a creator, a sculptor, or architect of the social organism.”
CCAI High School Pic(ks) 2018 Exhibition

Thirty-two artists from Carson, Dayton, Douglas, and Pioneer high schools have work in the exhibit. CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Tuesday, April 24, 5 – 7pm. The free exhibition is available to the public from April 15 – July 9, 2018, Mondays - Fridays, 8am – noon and 1-4pm.

More than 1,000 students from across the state of Nevada competed in more than 40 medical competition events.

Carson City Senior Center makes Christmas delivery for hundreds of homebound seniors

The Carson City Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels program delivers almost 300 meals to homebound seniors daily. In the past year, the Center has provided over 79,500 hot meals.
