The Capital City Arts Initiative presents an exhibition, "Faces and Places" by nine northern Nevada artists in the Community Center’s Sierra Room, 851 E William Street, Carson City. The exhibition runs through February 27, 2020. CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Sierra Room; the artists will give brief talks about their work at 5:30 p.m.

This year, the Carson City School District Board of Trustees selected the topic, “An early motto of the United States was e pluribus unum, which means ‘out of many, one,’ so how do we embrace diversity and inclusiveness to come together as one country?”
25th Annual Carson High School Craft Fair kicks off holiday shopping in Carson City

Nevada Department of Public Safety appoints new Parole and Probation Division Chief

Obituary: William 'Bill' Clarence Thornton, 1934-2019

Bill died peacefully at home in hospice care surrounded by loved ones.

Officially designated 1P/Halley, this is a short-period comet visible from Earth every 75–76 year and is the only known short-period comet that is visible to the naked eye from Earth and the only naked-eye comet that might appear twice in a human lifetime.
