Start the day at the semi-annual Vintage Market right behind Due Sorella, then stick around to sign yourself, your friends, family and neighbors up for October Wine Walk.

Autumn is blowing in, but don’t let that keep you indoors. Community Art Night returns to Telegraph Square with artists, live music, food trucks, and more. Learn what our local candidates think at the Carson City Arts and Cultural Coalition’s Candidate Forum in the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall. Carson City is looking for public input on the upcoming development along South Carson St., so head to Fuji Park to make your voice heard. Rich and Robin McGregor were all smiles Saturday afternoon as they opened the doors to the new Carson City Art Gallery and Pottery Studio inside the historic stage depot building located at 110 S. Curry Street in downtown Carson City.

Time for another wine walk, Carson City, thanks to the Downtown Business Association. Every first Saturday over 30 shops, restaurants, businesses, and organizations stock up on wine and goodies and throw open their doors to the crowds of merry-makers. It's always a great reason to explore downtown. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 and you have until 5 p.m. to hit as many stops as possible before the raffle begins.

There are multiple ways to say farewell to summer this weekend. The Best in the West Rib Cook-off is a local favorite, as is the Fallon Cantaloupe Festival. The August Community Art Night was held Thursday evening at Telegraph Square in downtown Carson City.

The weekend is quickly approaching, but don’t rush past the fun that Thursday has to offer. Check out the Jazz and Beyond offerings: Carolyn Dolan with members of the Reno Jazz Orchestra at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall or music with the New World Jazz Project on the Adele’s Veranda. Silver City, Nevada - Narrative, story-telling visual artist Frances Melhop, voted “One of the World's 200 Best Advertising Photographers 2009/2010″ by Luerzers Archive, will bring her skills and talents to the Resident Artist Program in Silver City this summer. She'll set up a temporary studio at the Silver City School House during August 2016, photographing some of the Comstock’s longtime residents for a 2017 exhibition at the Haldan Art Gallery at Tahoe.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016, 9 a.m. at St. Teresa Of Avila on Lompa Lane.

With a three-day holiday weekend, you’ll find many things throughout the area to compete for your attention, but there’s no fun like the Downtown Business Association’s monthly Downtown Wine Walk. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2. Grab a wine glass, map, and hand stamp and you will have until 5 p.m. to hit as many stops as possible before the raffle begins.

Last weekend the cyclists ruled our city, but now the hot-rodders are king of the road. The Rockabilly Riot is jam-packed with activities all over town: the races and booths at Mills Park; a street dance at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar; a tattoo show in the Community Center; a free concert at Gold Dust West; and Burlesque at the Nugget. Don’t think that’s all our valley has to offer, though, keep reading for all this weekend’s fun.
