Come join us at Jimmy G's Cigar Bar in downtown Carson City for Shots for a Cure. June 22nd from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. All all proceeds go to American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Come down and check it out. This is a 21+ event.

Each year people across the country participate in Relay for Life to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. This year one local team is taking a creative approach to raise money and awareness.

The Carson City-based "bullseye" team is working with Distinct Ink Tattoo for tattoos for a cause - an event that will help them reach their goal of five thousand dollars and leave participants with a permanent symbol of their support.

Distinct Ink in Carson City will participate in Tattoos for a Cure, Saturday, June 1 to benefit Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.

Walk in-only customers from noon to 8 p.m. can get a one size tattoo, any color, placed anywhere. For every $40 spent on tattoos, $20 will be donated to Relay for Life. Tattoos will be done by Zach and Lori Mueller and John Seaver.

What is the American Cancer Society’s Bark For Life?

The American Cancer Society’s Bark For Life is a noncompetitive walking event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer.

Bark For Life honors the life long contributions of canine caregivers. It presents an opportunity for people to be empowered through their canine companion partnerships and to contribute to the mission of the American Cancer Society to eliminate cancer as a major health problem.

When is the last time you and your dog saved a life?

The Carson City Relay For Life is our local event to support the American Cancer Society and to raise funds for cancer research, awareness and survivor resources and support. A Relay for Life fundraiser at Carson Lanes on Thursday night netted around $350, reports Joe Reinbolt, tech and bar manager. The money raised came from food and bowling specials, says Joe.

Fundraising Forum for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, will be on Saturday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Capital Christian Center, 1600 Snyder Ave., in Carson City.

The American Cancer Society Kickoff Event is Sat., April 3, at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa
