Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020 that there is an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individual was a male Douglas County resident in his 80’s. CCHHS is also reporting 402 new cases and 6 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad County region.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Monday, Dec. 7, 2020 that there are two additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individuals were a male Carson City resident in his 90s and a male Lyon County resident in his 70s.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020 that there are 143 new cases and 18 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 5,869, with 3,048 recoveries and 56 deaths; 2,765 cases remain active.

A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of misdemeanor trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia, a sheriff's office booking report states.

Carson City District Attorney Jason Woodbury will be the featured speaker at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. For the week ending November 28, initial claims for unemployment insurance (UI) totaled 6,442, down 1,679 claims, or 20.7 percent, compared to the previous week’s total of 8,121 claims, according to finalized data from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR).

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 that there are 8 additional deaths due to COVID-19 in the Quad County region. The individuals were 5 Carson City residents, a Douglas County resident, a Lyon County resident, and a Storey County resident.

The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development Board of Directors on Wednesday approved abatements for 11 companies that it says will generate $90,207,019 in tax revenue and create 1,991 jobs over the next 10 years. Of the 11 companies, two are based in Lyon County and six in Washoe County.

A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for a felony warrant alleging burglary and two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants, a sheriff's office deputy report states.

A 39-year-old man was arrested Nov. 27 following a traffic stop that led to a search of the vehicle and the discovery of drugs and a wallet that had been reported stolen, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

CARSON CITY — For the week ending Nov. 21, initial claims for unemployment insurance totaled 8,121, up 871 claims, or 12.1 percent, compared to the previous week’s total of 7,243 claims, according to finalized data from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. Through the week ending Nov. 21, there have been a total of 768,159 initial claims filed in 2020, 746,507 of which have been filed since the week ending March 14.

CARSON CITY — The Silver State added back 3,600 jobs, or 0.3 percent since September 2020. When compared to October 2019, jobs are still down by 117,200, or -8.2 percent, for a current total of 1,305,300 jobs, according to a the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s October 2020 economic report.
