'Food, Glorious Food' drive coincides with musical 'Oliver, JR!' at Carson City's BAC
Wild Horse Children’s Theater and Living Stones Church will be having a holiday "Food, Glorious Food" drive coinciding with the second weekend of the musical "Oliver, JR!" being performed at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City. The drive benefits Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH.
Patrons are requested to bring canned or boxed food and drop them off in the theater lobby before the performance they are attending. Patrons who donate items will receive a certificate for $1 off a concession item at the show.
“We are happy to partner with Living Stones Church with this food drive. The holiday season is an especially difficult time to live with food insecurity — not knowing when you will get your next meal”, said Executive Director Carol Scott.
“We have hundreds of patrons coming in for our show, filled with the holiday spirit, and FISH is a wonderful partner to harness the spirit of Christmas giving.” Wild Horse Children’s Theater will collection donations in the lobby during the run of "Oliver, JR!" this coming weekend and Living Stones Church will deliver donations to FISH.
During the holidays, donations of items like canned pumpkin, cranberry sauce, and stuffing mix can help make sure a family struggling to put food on the table is still able to enjoy some of their favorite holiday meals.
Oliver, JR! runs Friday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 449 West King Street in Carson City.
Tickets are available online at www.wildhorsetheater.com or at the door (if available).
