Man jailed after admitting to throwing picture frame that hit victim in domestic dispute
A Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 6:01 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Fifth Street. He faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery after admitting to throwing a picture frame at his partner, hitting him in the head.
According to the arrest report officers responded to the area regarding a domestic battery. Dispatch observed the victim was bleeding from a laceration to the top of the head. The victim advised that the man threw a framed picture at him causing injury and that he was in the apartment, intoxicated and cut himself after stabbing a kitchen knife on a counter top, the arrest report states.
Officers made contact with the man inside his apartment. He was bleeding from a laceration to his right hand. At first the man denied being in a physical altercation, and then claimed the victim stabbed him with a kitchen knife. He eventually admitted to throwing the picture frame at the victim, hitting him in the head.
The man was read his Miranda rights and also admitted to cutting himself by accident when he was slamming a knife on the kitchen counter. He was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,132.
In other misdemeanor arrests:
A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 4:25 p.m. in the 300 block of North Carson Street. He faces a charge of petit larceny and possession of stolen property.
According to the arrest report, the man allegedly stole five to six knives, valued at $245, at a collectibles store and was attempting to pawn them at a pawn shop.
During a search, officers another knife that still had a price tag on it. Officers went to another pawn shop and showed the clerk the knife who identified it as being from his store. The knife was valued at $9.95. The man later admitted to officers about taking the knives and attempting them to sell them at other pawn stores. Bail: $704.
— A 20-year-old man turned himself into Carson City Jail officers Tuesday, 2:12 p.m. on a misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrant. Bail: $949.
— A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday in the area of south Carson Street and Eagle Station. He faces a misdemeanor charge of being an intoxicated pedestrian.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to the area after a report of a pedestrian on the ground in traffic. The man was pulled from the traffic lane by a witnessed and taken to a sidewalk. The witness said she feared the man was going to be hit by a moving car. Bail: $87.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
