Nevada unemployment rate steady in September; 3.4 percent in Carson City, 3.1 in Reno area
Nevada's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.4 percent in September 2022 which was unchanged from July and August 2022, according to the state's Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s September 2022 economic report.
Seasonally adjusted estimates account for regularly seen economic patterns, with the following estimates not seasonally adjusted.
In the three Metropolitan Statistical Areas, the unemployment rates in September were 3.4 percent in the Carson City area, 3.1 percent in Reno and 5.3 percent in the Las Vegas area. In August, the unemployment rates were 3.8 percent in the Carson City, 3.4 percent in Reno and 5.7 percent in the Las Vegas area.
In Nevada’s counties, the lowest unemployment rate was in White Pine County at 2.4 percent, Clark County and Nye County had the highest rate at 5.3 percent. For a look at the unemployment rate in every county, see the Area Profiles page here.
