Carson City sheriff’s deputies arrest man for assault with a deadly weapon
Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested a 57-year-old Carson City resident on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
Richard Erb was arrested on Oct. 5 after swinging an aluminum baseball bat at his daughter and a vehicle.
According to the arrest report, deputies spoke to the mother of one of Erb’s daughter’s friends. The friend had received a call from Erb’s daughter saying she did not feel safe in her house. When the mother had arrived at the house, Erb came out swinging a baseball bat at the driver’s side door, leaving scratches on it before she reversed and drove away with Erb’s daughter and her own daughter inside.
Erb’s daughter did not want to go home and requested that her dad not know she called the cops.
When deputies went to the site, Erb was outside smoking a cigarette on the porch. Once arrested, Erb took a preliminary breath test and blew a .219.
Erb was booked into the Carson City jail without incident.

In other arrests:
— A 36-year-old Fernley resident was arrested on Oct. 5 for four misdemeanor charges including disorderly conduct, trespassing, battery and destruction of property.
According to the booking report, the male subject was inside a store on East William Street walking around, throwing things and threatening to shoot a store employee after the employee asked him to leave. The subject then threw the beer he was trying to buy on the floor and exited.
He was in the parking lot yelling at a woman later identified as his fiancé. She had two small children with her.
The subject also picked up a pumpkin off an outside display and threw it at the employee. When he exited the parking lot in his car, he was pulled over and arrested by deputies.
He was booked into the Carson City Detention Facility without incident.
Bail: $1,800
— A 40-year-old Folsom resident was arrested in Carson City on a misdemeanor charge for destruction of property.
On Oct. 5, the male subject locked himself in the third-floor laundry room at an apartment complex on the 1100 block of Beverly Drive and was attempting to light something on fire.
According to the report, when deputies arrived on scene, there was a “haze of smoke” at the top of the ceiling. The subject was crouched down behind a drying machine.
The subject later told deputies he had snorted methamphetamine the day before and was extremely paranoid from the drug's effects. As a result, he punctured his cellphone which caused the battery to combust and he threw it into the washing machine, causing the interior of the machine to melt. The reporting party decided to pursue charges
The subject was released to detention deputies with no incident.
Bail: $500.
— A 31-year-old woman was arrested for three misdemeanor charges on Oct. 5. The charges included driving with a revoked driver’s license from driving under the influence, head lamps not illuminated when required and display of fictitious, revoked and suspended registration.
The subject had been assigned a “Book and Release” bail, according to the report.
The subject was booked and released from Carson City jail with no incident.
