Carson City sheriff's deputies make domestic battery, warrant arrests
A 78-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of two counts misdemeanor domestic battery and harassment, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Deputies were dispatched at 9:17 p.m. to a residence for domestic battery. Dispatch advised officers of the situation as they arrived. Officers made contact with the victim who stated her husband was intoxicated and started an argument with her about chores and house duties.
The victim stated she attempted to go to sleep in another bedroom and that her husband cornered her, grabbed onto her arms and then her neck. Deputies observed a small bruise on her forearm. She stated her husband told her at least three times that he would kill her, the report states.
Deputies made contact with the suspect who exited the residence and was initially uncooperative. He told deputies he was only verbal in the domestic dispute with his wife. Dispatch advised he was a concealed carry weapons permit holder. The officer did a pat down for weapons and located a firearm on his person, the report states.
Deputies also spoke with the man's son who stated he was also battered by the suspect, and that the man attempted to choke him. Officers observed two red marks on his throat, the report states. The son stated his father threatened to kill him in his sleep, put him in the hospital and that his father also punched and poked his chest twice.
The suspect was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak and denied ever touching his wife. He was arrested for suspicion of two counts domestic battery and harassment. Total bail amount listed in the booking report: $6,576.

— A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Wednesday morning for suspicion of being an ex-felon failing to register and drunken pedestrian, both misdemeanor offenses. Bail: $314.
— A 40-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday, 8:53 p.m. for violation of pre-sentencing conditions. No bail hold in lieu of a hearing.
— A 24-year-old Carson City man turned himself into the Carson City Sheriff's Office for three misdemeanor warrants: hit and run of an unattended vehicle, hit and run of an occupied vehicle and resisting a police officer. The warrants were issued on August 16.
— A 34-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday for two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued in November, 2014. Bail: $6,274.
