The 2022 Carson City Independence Day fireworks show hosted by RSVP, also known as Nevada Rural Counties Retired & Senior Volunteer Program, is happening Monday evening in Mills Park, with fireworks to begin around 9:30 p.m. Those watching are encouraged to tune into radio station Wild 102.9 FM for synchronized music accompanying the display.
Prior to the show, the event features a stunning display of Fireworks on July 4th at sundown (around 9:30 p.m.) and new VIP Pavilion Experience, with live music from The Grimtones, and great food.
The Grimtones are a two piece rock n roll band from Reno, featuring Michelle Belle (guitar, keys, vocals), and Carter Stellon (drums, ukelele, harmonica, vocals). The celebration runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with fireworks after sundown.
Organizers said Monday the display is going to happen as planned though they will be monitoring any gusty winds that may cause delays. Any delays will be announced on Wild 102.9FM.
Those who plan to attend and watch are urged to leave their pets at home as loud noises scare animals.
The fireworks event is free, but RSVP is always looking for sponsors with a number of sponsorship packages.
Carson City Sheriff's Office urges motorists to follow traffic signs and to watch for pedestrians, especially along William and Saliman streets. There will be sign and advisory boards along the roadways.
