Nevada Women’s Fund to Recognize WNC Vice President at Salute to Women of Achievement Luncheon
Western Nevada College is pleased to announce that Dr. Dana Ryan, Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, will be recognized at the 2023 Nevada Women’s Fund Salute to Women of Achievement luncheon on Thursday, May 25. This event celebrates the significant contributions of women in various fields across Northern Nevada.
Dr. Ryan has served as WNC’s interim vice president for the past year, demonstrating leadership, dedication and commitment to advancing high-quality educational opportunities for learners of all ages.
“I am honored to be recognized,” said Dr. Ryan, “but this is really a reflection of the amazing faculty and staff at Western who are always willing to try something new, change their approach, and think bigger in an effort to better meet the needs of the students and community we serve.”
In her role as vice president, Ryan has guided initiatives to create new programs aligned with emerging industries and workforce needs; expand services for English language and adult learners; explore innovative methods and flexible options for academic participation; and foster a supportive learning/work environment for students, faculty and staff.
Dr. Ryan’s distinguished career includes experience in education (preschool through higher education), workforce development and industry. In all roles, she has demonstrated an unwavering passion for high-quality educational options that meet people where they are, providing a clear path to lifelong learning and success.
“We are proud of Dr. Ryan’s accomplishments in the short time she has been at WNC,” said WNC President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe. “Her efforts to enhance the academic experience at WNC have had a positive impact on our institution and the community as a whole.”
The Nevada Women’s Fund Salute to Women of Achievement event celebrates the determination, passion and dedication of Northern Nevada professional women and the businesses that support them. By highlighting the remarkable achievements made by women in various fields, this gathering serves as an inspiration to future generations to find meaningful ways to contribute to their workplace, families and community.
For the past 40 years, Nevada Women’s Fund has significantly impacted women’s lives, raising and awarding more than $9 million in education scholarships to Northern Nevada women, as well as grant funding to organizations supporting women and children.
