Tickets available for annual downtown Carson City's Capital City Brewfest in June
Tickets are on sale for this year’s Capital City Brewfest. The annual event, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Carson City, takes place Saturday, June 24 from 3 to 8 p.m. along Curry Street at McFadden Plaza.
“The Brewfest is always a great way to kick off summer in our area,” says Rotarian and Organizer Jim Gray. “We look forward to a another strong turn out this year.”
Organizers are expecting a record number of breweries to take part this year. Plus, as in the past there will be live music in McFadden Plaza. Gray says the Brewfest has come a long way over the years. “We started this as a pizza and beer contest in the Carson Mall over a decade ago. It’s great to see how it’s grown and how much our community has embraced it.”
Along with sampling beer, attendees can also purchase raffle tickets for several prizes including wagons of beer and wine, rounds of golf, and a night out on the town which includes dinner and a concert.
Money raised benefits several local Rotary projects including youth programs and scholarships as well as community improvement projects.
Gray says hosting the Brewfest is a team effort. “Volunteers put a lot of time into the Brewfest,” says Gray adding “the feedback makes it all worthwhile. I love hearing people say it’s their favorite local event, or that they can’t wait for it to return. It’s always nice to see attendees catch up with old friends and we love that it brings our community together year after year.”
Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. They can be purchased online at www.capitalcitybrewfest.com or from any Rotary Club of Carson City member.
