Campagni Auto Group donates $5,000 for WNC Scholarships
For the past eight years, Campagni Auto Group’s Carson City Toyota has been a consistent supporter of local students' pursuit of higher education. This commitment to the community shines through in Campagni Auto Group's ongoing scholarship initiatives, which provide vital financial assistance to deserving students year after year.
During the 2023-2024 academic year, the Dick Campagni Automotive Scholarship was awarded to these outstanding students: Cody Harp, Daniel Luna-Acros, Natalie Maguire, Emilee Mallory, Andy Torres-Hernandez, Evan Valdez, Gracie Watts and Faith Wilson.
Established with the vision to empower local students as they pursue higher education, Carson City Toyota and the Campagni Auto Group provide $5,000 in scholarships to area students attending Western Nevada College. This financial assistance enables students to pursue their associate degree and pursue careers in auto mechanics.
“The Dick Campagni Automotive Scholarship was created to benefit this community by offering local students help in attaining higher education and with the intention of giving local area students the best chance of a successful future,” said Jeff Campagni, general manager of the Dick Campagni Auto Group.
Besides helping recent high school grads and auto mechanics students pursue their educational goals at WNC, the Campagni Auto Group began providing scholarships for WNC’s Higher Education in Prison program several years ago. In addition, Campagni Auto Group partnered with WNC and the Nevada Department of Corrections to launch an auto mechanics training program at Northern Nevada Correctional Center. An Introduction to General Mechanics class began in August 2023, creating opportunities for incarcerated individuals once they are released.
“We appreciate everything that Campagni Auto Group and Carson City Toyota do for Western Nevada College and our students,” said WNC President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe. “Their philanthropic efforts make our community a much better place to live and their investment in our students can only enhance our community in the future.”
Campagni Auto Group recognized that there is a pool of talent that, if trained while incarcerated, could return to the community ready to help rebuild the workforce at their dealership and others around the state.
“We are anxiously awaiting the chance to interview the first set of graduates who will have earned multiple Automotive Service Excellence certifications and a Certificate of Achievement from WNC before they walk out the door,” Dana Whaley, Carson City Toyota's former general manager said. “We’re proud to have been at the forefront of this endeavor.”
The Campagni Auto Group also supports the annual WNC Golf for Education Tournament with hole-in-one prizes, including a $10,000 grand prize.
“Western Nevada College cherishes its ongoing partnership with Campagni Auto Group and Carson City Toyota. We appreciate the difference their support makes in our students’ lives,” said WNC Foundation Executive Director Niki Gladys. “Dick Campagni’s team is leading the way in helping students reach goals that they didn’t think were possible and supporting them as they become valuable contributors to our communities in the future.”
