Northern Nevada Eagle Scouts and community leaders to be honored at recognition dinner
The Nevada Area Council, the local organization for the Boy Scouts of America, will be honoring local Eagle Scouts and distinguished adult leaders at an upcoming recognition dinner. The dinner will honor over 90 young men and women who earned the Eagle Rank, the BSA's highest rank, in 2021 and 2022.
"Together, these young people provided over 12,000 hours of community service to communities in Northern Nevada and Northeastern California. Eagle Scouts are our community's future leaders, and we look forward to honoring their achievement at this event" said Laif Meidell, Council President for the Nevada Area Council.
In addition to the Eagle Scouts, the Nevada Area Council will be recognizing five adult leaders with the organization's Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor a local BSA organization can bestow upon adult volunteers. Nevada Area Council's Scout Executive, Paul Penttila noted "Our adult volunteers are the lifeblood of Scouting and this year we are proud to recognize those individuals in our community who have served with honor and distinction."
The dinner will be held March 18th at the Renaissance Hotel in Reno starting at 6PM. Members of the public, businesses, and other organizations are invited to join in the celebration.
