Public invited: New Carson High School principal to speak at Carson City Rotary meeting
Dan Carstens, the newly named principal at Carson High School, will be the guest speaker at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. The public is invited to attend. The meeting takes place Tuesday, Jan. 30, at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom in Carson City.
Carstens will talk about his goals for both the students and staff at Carson High School. He will also address what he sees as challenges and opportunities at the school.
Carstens comes to Carson High School from Bear River Middle School in Garland, Utah. He has spent nearly 30 years working in education, including experience including serving as a Math and Science teacher and adjunct faculty at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. He earned a master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, a teaching certification in Mathematics from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and a bachelor’s in Mathematics from Pacific University.
