December unemployment drops slightly in Carson City, Reno and Las Vegas
Unemployment in Carson City was down slightly in December to 3.2 percent, according to figures released Monday from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. In November the capital city's unemployment rate was 3.3 percent.
Statewide, Nevada's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 6.4 percent in December 2021 which decreased by 0.5 percent from November 2021. Seasonally adjusted estimates account for regularly seen economic patterns, with the following estimates not seasonally adjusted.
In the three Metropolitan Statistical AreasLas Vegas had the highest with 6 percent unemployment and Reno, the lowest with 2.8 percent. November's unemployment rate was 6.3 percent in Las Vegas and in Reno, 2.9 percent.
In Nevada’s counties, the lowest unemployment rate was in Eureka County at 2.1 percent. Clark County had the highest rate at 6 percent. Go here for individual county employment profiles.
