FISH offered $250,000 match for Revitalization Project in downtown Carson City
An anonymous donor has offered to match up to $250,000 from now until Jan. 31, 2023 for the FISH Revitalization Project in downtown Carson City to help double the community impact.
With more than half of the project funded, FISH is actively fundraising for the remaining costs. Donors contributing $50,000 or more will be recognized with their name engraved on granite pillars in front of the commercial building that faces N. Carson Street.

The FISH Revitalization Project’s primary goal is to provide student housing with a stable living environment while underemployed individuals are focused on college-level technical schooling so they can transition from “minimum wage to meaningful careers.”
College-level technical training will be provided by partner organizations, like Western Nevada College, to meet the needs of regional employers (medical, IT, HVAC, manufacturing, long-haul trucking, etc.).
FISH and its partners will use various funding sources (HUD vouchers, Pell grants, etc.) to offset participant costs through graduation and the initial few months of employment.
The dormitories are slated to be move-in ready and completed by August, with a commercial building to open by October in time for Nevada Day.
Once completed, our Revitalization Project will revitalize downtown Carson City, the local workforce, and families (with training to help all family members succeed) that will take a bite out of generational poverty.
