NVFDW announces inaugural political short film contest
The Board of Directors of the Nevada Federation of Democratic Women (NVFDW) has launched the inaugural Annual Political Short Film Contest on Friday, December 1, 2023.
The contest will accept entries of up to 90-second videos promoting the NVFDW Platform and Democratic Credo from young adults and older who reside in the state of Nevada.
The winning contestants will have their videos featured on the NVFDW website and social media platforms throughout the 2024 election season, in addition to receiving prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
"We are so excited about this contest especially for this 2024 election cycle! We are anxious to share our constituents’ creativity on these important issues,” says NVFDW President and founder Audrey Dempsey.
“The contest is very timely as the political season heats up and it becomes more important than ever to showcase democratic values in hope of increasing voter turnout and participation in our democratic process,” adds Patricia Cuocco, NVFDW Northern Nevada Director.
The Nevada Chapter of the National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) was formed in 2019. Since 1974, the NFDW has been recognized as the official women's organization of the Democratic National Committee.
The NVFDW’s mission is to unite Nevada’s women Democrats, develop and mobilize a strong collective voice that promotes the issues and causes of the Democratic Party, and encourage women of all ages to participate in every level of the Democratic Party, including party structure and elective office.
Entries will be accepted until 11:59 pm on Monday, January 15, 2024, via the NVFDW website: www.nvfdw.org. Voting will open to the public on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
