White Hart Law to focus on litigation, elections
Carson City attorney Kevin Benson is using his experience in litigation, appeals, and election law to open his new law office, White Hart Law.
White Hart Law will focus on assisting individual and business clients in civil litigation, appeals, and dealing with government and administrative agencies. White Hart Law will also assist candidates and campaigns with election law and campaign finance matters.
Benson previously practiced at the Nevada Attorney General's office, where he represented the Secretary of State and other clients. During that time, Benson handled many election law cases and appeals, as well as other litigation.
"One of the most interesting cases I had was the 'None of the above' case," Benson said.
Nevada is the only state in the nation that allows the "None of the above" option on the ballot.
"The plaintiffs claimed that 'None of the above' was unconstitutional and violated a number of federal statutes. But we successfully defended it, and it remains an option for Nevada voters. The case was expedited before the 2012 presidential election, and the Ninth Circuit dismissed all their claims," Benson explained.
Benson is a graduate of the University of Nevada - Reno and obtained his JD from Rutgers School of Law. He has been licensed in Nevada since 2007.
