Carson City Grocery Outlet's 'Independence From Hunger' campaign benefits Northern Nevada Dream Center
Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, the extreme-value grocery retailer, launched its 13th Annual Independence from Hunger Food Drive, to combat food insecurity and support families in vulnerable and disadvantaged communities throughout America. From June 28 to July 31, 2023, Carson City Grocery Outlet is teaming up with The Northern Nevada Dream Center, to collect cash donations in-store and online.
Families and children in vulnerable and disadvantaged communities throughout the US are at continued risk of experiencing food insecurity, lacking the basic nutrients necessary for the development of an active, healthy life. With the ongoing inflation, families continue to turn to food banks as 34 million people in the United States are currently food insecure.
Customers can make a difference by visiting Carson City Grocery Outlet and participating in one of these easy steps:
• Give $5, get $5. Donate $5 or more in a single transaction in-store or online and you will receive a coupon for $5 off a future purchase of $25 or more.
• Donate at check out. Tell your cashier you want to make a cash donation at the register. Donations will go directly to that store’s local food agency partner. Donate $1, $5 or round up your change.
For 77 years, Grocery Outlet has been committed to giving back to local community organizations and IFH is an integral part of our commitment. “Since 1946, our core values have been built around our desire to both provide and give back to our local communities,” said Grocery Outlet Chairman of the Board, Eric Lindberg “Our customers and communities alike are the foundation of our success. We feel it’s important to continue supporting these communities in every way possible, especially in their time of greatest need.”
The Carson City Grocery Outlet store is independently owned and operated by Mike Blewett and Bobbie Johnson who are committed to giving back to the local community. This year, the national campaign will span over 450 locations and build on Grocery Outlet's past Independence from Hunger efforts that have raised nearly 16.5 million dollars to date, across America.
