Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association installs new officers in Carson City
Observing Safe Distancing The Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association, Sierra Tahoe Unit No. 137 installed their new officers earlier this month at the Carson City home of the West Coast Regional President, Brenda Horton.
Each newly elected officer put their left hand on the person in front of them, President first, etc., however, in order to maintain safe distancing a decorate garden glove (Unit Colors of course) was placed at the end of a 6 foot dowel and the officer held it in her left hand and placed the glove on the officer-elect in front of her.
According to the Constitution and By Laws of the Association nomination of new officers is to be held in April, Elections In May and the Installation must occur no later than June. COVID-19 did not stop this Unit from following their traditions.
The Officers and Board of Directors held meetings each month, as required, learning to use ZOOM Meetings. The nominations and elections were also done through ZOOM.
Congratulations to each officer and for the integrity and tenacity it took to maintain strength, communication and a bit of humor during difficult times!
The new officers are Cherly Dagang, President, Jan Solberg, Vice President, Maggie Smith, Secretary and Sue Higgins, Treasurer, Judy Dunn-Schmidt, Chaplain, Board of Directors will remain the same.
