Carson City Move-a-Thon to Raise Money for Families Living in Poverty
Carson City's Capital City C.I.R.C.L.E.S. Initiative is hosting a virtual move-a-thon as a fundraiser. The Capital City C.I.R.C.L.E.S. Move-a-Thon will be taking place virtually, everywhere, wherever participants like! It will be happening Saturday, June 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
This virtual Move-a-Thon asks folks anywhere to, “move to end poverty.” Participants can register and buy their tickets here ($20 for adults, $15 for kids under 13): CarsonGetUpAndGo.eventbrite.com and encourages them to take a video of how they get moving that day. And, for anyone interested in winning a weekend getaway at a Graeeagle Cabin in Portola, there are $50 raffle tickets for that. Winners will be announced on the 12th.
All the proceeds will go to Capital City C.I.R.C.L.E.S. initiative, which is a cooperative community effort to elevate people out of poverty by intentionally creating relationships across class lines, and empowering people in poverty to chart their own course toward self-sufficiency, which will undoubtedly be crucial as Northern Nevadans emerge from this pandemic.
