Wild Horse Children's Theater to host virtual workshop, video of 'This is me' from 'The Greatest Showman'
We miss the stage, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make theater. Wild Horse Children’s Theater is looking for young actors, singers, and dancers, ages 10 to 21, for our second virtual Broadway workshop.
In this hybrid workshop (online and in person), actors will meet with Wild Horse directors on Zoom beginning Wednesday, April 7 for 5 weeks to rehearse “This is Me” from the movie "The Greatest Showman."
This exciting anthem is all about standing up for yourself, being proud of who you are, and accepting and loving yourself. This is the perfect song for our actors to express themselves in their own unique clothing and/or costumes that they feel represent who they are! In these challenging times, it is a reminder that the world has the possibility of being something greater and better — and our young people can lead the way!
Students will meet on Zoom twice a week: Wednesdays from 5 to 6:30 pm for dance and Thursdays from 5 to 6:00 pm for music. Students will record their vocals from their home to be edited into a pre-recorded performance (solos and chorus).
We will then meet live with small groups at the Brewery Arts Center and around Carson City to film the choreography and combine the vocals into a unified Broadway-style video that can be viewed on social media sites and the WHP YouTube channel.
Wearing masks and all COVID safety protocols will be in place during filming.
Students must audition for roles by sending in a one-minute vocal audition tape with the song “This is Me.” Music, lyrics, and audition packet with information on taping your audition will be sent to those who request an audition. Tuition is $40.
For more information or to request an audition packet, email Director@wildhorsetheater.com. Please include student(s) name and age. Sign up for the Wild Horse Productions newsletter and get more information on upcoming auditions, productions and workshops at www.wildhorsetheater.com.
We are turning the houselights up in 2021. See you on stage.
