(July 1, 2020) — The Abbi Agency, an integrated marketing agency headquartered in Reno, Nev., has been chosen as the agency of record for Visit Placer, a 1,400-square mile destination with diverse geography in Northern California encompassing a range of cities from Olympic Valley to Foresthill and Auburn to Roseville.

With small businesses reopening and needing to adjust their operations amid COVID-19 restrictions and economic challenges, University of Nevada, Reno Extension is teaming up with the Nevada Small Business Development Center to offer an online town hall this week, “The Nevada SBDC and Business Counseling.”

A new local custom automotive shop is set to open in Carson City to help personalize your vehicle.

Carson Built Customs, located at 220 E. William St., specializes in custom powder coatings, metal works, CNC fabrication as well as custom installations for automobiles and motorcycles. No exact date has been set for when the business opens. Thomas Purnal, owner of Carson Built Customs, said he plans on opening to the public by mid-July.

While Phase 2 is allowing for more businesses to open, the language of the mandate is leaving some businesses confused, while others have already begun planning their reopening this weekend.

This Friday, May 22 at 4 p.m. Casino Fandango’s award-winning Duke’s Steak House in Carson City will reopen to the public. RENO - Based on processed applications as of May 13, 2020, Nevada State Bank has announced approval for 4,255 U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans totaling $592,005,500.

More than 68% of the loans were made to businesses with fewer than 10 employees and approximately 82% of the loans approved were for amounts less than $150,000 (57% for amounts less than $50,000). The funding will help preserve payrolls for 65,607 Nevada jobs, based on applicant data.
