WNC advises federal student aid filing opens Thursday; early filers have better chance getting aid

Don’t wait. Students planning to attend Western Nevada College can begin submitting their 2021-22 Free Application for Federal Student Aid form on Thursday, Oct. 1, and financial aid officials are advising students not to wait.

Carson City, Quad area COVID-19 Wednesday briefing: 19 new cases, 10 recoveries

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting 19 new cases and 10 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020. This brings the total number of cases to 1,323, with 1,220 recoveries and 16 deaths, 87 cases remain active.

Downtown Carson City October Wine Walk returns Saturday

Carson City detectives ask for public's help locating endangered, possibly kidnapped woman

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking for assistance in locating a missing and endangered adult. Brandi Cargile was released from the Carson City Jail on September 21, 2020.

The Nevada Humane Society reported that during its 3-day adoption event, they adopted out a total of 280 pets between their Carson City and Reno locations.
