Nevada gives No. 5 San Diego State a run in heartbreaker

Nevada’s chance at history fell just short in a 83-76 loss to No. 5 ranked San Diego State on Saturday at Lawlor Events Center. It would have marked the program’s first-ever regular season home win against a Top-5 opponent.

NV Energy Requests $24 Million Rate Decrease Benefitting Northern Nevada Customers

NV Energy today made a rate filing with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) that if approved, will result in an overall $24.1 million rate decrease for northern Nevada electric customers effective October 1, 2020. This is the second rate reduction filed by NV Energy this month.

A giant dust devil was reported to have wreaked significant damage on a west Carson City neighborhood Saturday afternoon during the wind storm that swept through the city, according to local resident Katherine Hansen.

Carson City man arrested for lewdness with a child, stolen credit cards, obstruction and more

A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of 2nd and Curry on four felony counts including two fugitive from justice warrants for lewdness with a child and obstruction, one count of using a false ID to avoid prosecution, and one count of obtaining or possessing credit cards without consent.

According to the report, Gary Pedrucci was arrested after Special Enforcement Team deputies were traveling south on Curry Street and saw an SUV partially in the roadway for north and south traffic.

Nevada Highway Patrol investigates fatal rollover incident near Johnson Lane Friday night

According to NHP Northern Command, a fatal rollover occurred just before 10 p.m. Friday night, resulting in at least one confirmed fatality.

The fatal crash occurred in the Northbound lanes of 395 at Johnson Lane in Carson City, which was shut down for the investigation. Two vehicles were involved in the accident, which included a rollover and ejection.

One person was confirmed deceased at the scene. NHP believes impairment was a factor.

The deceased's name has not been released at this time.

Car versus Bus vehicle accident reported at College and Lompa Friday evening

An accident between a bus and a vehicle was reported in the area of College and Lompa just before 5 p.m. on Friday evening.

Dispatch reported that a vehicle struck the bus before two suspects from the vehicle fled on foot. People on scene reported someone at the scene involved with the crash appeared intoxicated.

However, once deputies arrived all individuals involved with the accident were still on scene and spoke with deputies.

Deputies are on scene providing traffic control.

Carson City Volunteers Bring Benefits for Friends of the Nevada State Museum

Each year, CVS employees volunteer thousands of hours to nonprofit organizations in their communities. Joanne Dwyer, Director of the CVS Health Foundation, states that the CVS Health Foundation awards grants which supports these efforts and provides additional financial support to the causes supported by CVS employees. Grants, which range from $500 to $5,000, are awarded directly to the organization on the CVS employee’s behalf.
