Status of Women in Nevada to meet July 25

Our July monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 starting at 12 p.m. We will be at the high table in the Alatte at the Carson Nugget in Carson City, Nevada.

Our guest speaker will be Ed Noel of Omega Mortgage. Ed's topic will be about how women were not allowed to buy a home; much less rent a house/apartment just not so long ago in the grand scheme of things. He will lend insight to the reasons too and share with us how many things have changed for the better.

The Carson City Airport Open House is back this Saturday, and they're bringing more than one kind of wing

The Carson City Airport will once again be hosting its Open House and Fly-In this Saturday, June 29 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., with all proceeds going to benefit the Eagle Valley Children’s Home.

This year, the annual festivity is adding a new kind of wing to the mix: chicken wings, with a Chicken Wing Cook-Off Challenge.

Food Truck Thursdays will take place every 2nd and 4th Thursday throughout the summer at Mills Park in Carson City.

Come check out Carson City's growing outside eateries while enjoying some live music in beautiful Mills Park.

Event runs from noon to 9 p.m. The first Thursday featured the Bus Boy Mobile Cuisine, Kim’s Kool Treats, and Press Coffee & Waffles with music by Farris Neon.

Asian Street Eats will be joining this Thursday with more trucks joining each event.

Nevada Day announces 'Nevada Counties: 100 years' as theme for 2019

This year, Pershing County is celebrating its 100th birthday, becoming Nevada’s 17th and final county, and Nevada Day festivities in Carson City has been chosen as its Silver State celebration hub.

“We’re taking this opportunity to remind folks all around Nevada this is a statewide celebration,” said Ken Hamilton, Executive Director of Nevada Day. “Our goal is to get all the counties involved with the parade this year to help celebrate our statehood.”

Carson City emergency crews called to crash involving motorcycle on Highway 50 East

DAYTON — Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties hosts its farmers market in Dayton for the 10th summer. The market is Thursday evenings from 4 to 7 p.m. It is co-located with Healthy Communities’ new community garden, known as the Solidarity Garden. This will offer market patrons the opportunity to join the community garden as well.
