Historic coin press in Carson City runs last minting of 2018

Operators of the historic Coin Press No. 1 inside Carson City's Nevada State Museum began striking silver medallions Friday with a commemorative Abraham Curry design created just for the occasion.
Sierra Nevada brews 'Resilience Butte County Proud' IPA beer for Camp Fire victims, sold by local tap houses

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. has decided to help out fire victims of the Camp Fire by crafting a new beer with proceeds going towards those in need, currently being sold by Carson City's local bars, Shoe Tree Brewing Co. and The Fox Brewpub.
Nevada Wolf Pack looks to corner Utah Utes on Saturday

After taking care of the Akron Zips last week, Nevada’s men’s basketball team seemed like the unhappiest undefeated team in the nation. But a Christmastime break has put the Wolf Pack in a better mood.

On Dec. 27, 2018 the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department completed the installation of a concrete monument sign and rules/regulatory signage at the Rifle and Pistol Range.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance with an attempted theft at Walmart, located in the Topsy Lane Shopping Center at 3770 U.S. Highway 395 South in Carson City.
Carson City man arrested on multiple child pornography, sexual assault charges

A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested by Special Enforcement Team deputies and Carson City Sheriff’s Office detectives in the area of Clear Creek and Dat So La Lee on five counts of sexual assault on a victim under 14, six counts of using a minor under 14 for pornography, and one count of felony child abuse.
Carson City Special Enforcement Team busts drug ring Thursday night

A 27-year-old Carson City woman and a 27-year-old Carson City man were arrested by the Carson City Special Enforcement Team in the 2800 block of Menlo Drive Thursday night on five felony charges for trafficking and selling meth and heroin.
