The Carson River Watershed “Get on the Bus” Tour will cover a variety of watershed topics and locations from the headwaters in Alpine County, Calif., to a tour of the Lahontan Dam and Gate House near Fallon.

Patrons at the E. William Street Starbucks in Carson City were treated to the unexpected Wednesday morning when they came in for their daily lattes and were greeted by the smiling faces of members of law enforcement behind the counter in honor of national Coffee with a Cop day.

We have long supported increasing diversity in energy supplies via economic development of renewables. But the mandates proposed by Question 6 are a big mistake and we strongly counsel voting against it.
Carson City man jailed for suspicion of second domestic battery, unlawful possession of guns

A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for felony possession of guns by a prohibited person and suspicion of second offense domestic battery, a gross misdemeanor, a sheriff's deputy said.
Nationwide emergency alert test to go out today on mobile phones, TV and radio

FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission, will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts Wednesday morning, Oct. 3. The wireless portion of the test, which will be sent to consumer cell phones, will begin at 11:18 a.m. Pacific Time and two minutes later television and radio stations.

In collaboration with Emergency Management, EMS, Fire, Public Works, and the Sheriff’s Office, Carson City Health and Human Services will host a drive-thru flu clinic on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Carson City DMV parking lot.
