February 13, 2018 - 9:00am Come and join us for our weekly one hour walks to enjoy Nevada outdoors around Carson City! Meet at 9:00 am in front of Starbucks at 3325 Retail Drive off College Parkway.
All walks are 1 to 2 miles with duration of 1 hour with usually negligible elevation gain, and frequently on paved or smooth paths. Water and closed-toe shoes required. If it rains or snows, meet at the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC) at 1860 Russell Way. Contact Alyce Cloutier at klute89701@att.net.

February 25, 2018 - 10:00am Meet at Fremont Elementary School, 1511 Firebox Rd, Carson City, NV 89701, in the south parking lot, next to the Linear Ditch Trail.
Ride will normally consist of two loops which are 10-15 miles long each. The ride pace will vary depending on rider level, but will usually be about a 12-16 mph pace. This is a "no drop" ride so no one is left behind. All riders must have a bicycle in safe working condition, a helmet, and closed toed shoes.

The Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department invites all citizens interested in the official naming of two open space acquisitions to submit a written proposal.

The Union Carson ushered in the new year in Carson City with a bang, including a new IPA in the brew tanks, new winter hours and a host of new specials on the menu including breakfast, all overseen by a new general manager, Philip Davis.

Sunny days in the fifties are okay for spring, but we still need some winter to come our way. Take advantage of the warmer weather during a Winter Hike along Carson Valley’s Pinion Trail with Muscle Powered. Song and dance kids will want to audition for the upcoming performance of ‘Willy Wonka, Jr.’ If you’re a fan of song, but possibly too old to join the Youth Theater Carson City cast, check out the monthly jam in Silver City at their historic School House. All instruments are welcome, in addition to vocalists and those who just want to listen.
Governor Sandoval announces departure of Nevada Taxation Director Deonne Contine

Contine has served as Director since November 2014 and will pursue a professional opportunity in the private sector. A successor will be announced in the near future.
Valentine's Birdhouses

Your birdhouse will be the perfect addition to your yard or as a gift for your Valentine! The event is available to children 8-13 years old and they must be accompanied by an adult. Supplies are provided, but limited; please register for the event at www.carson.org/CCPR.
