Carson City Republican Party monthly meeting

Doors are open at 6:30PM for a social half hour then the meeting will be called to order at 7:00PM.
We are incredibly excited to have as our guest speaker for this meeting, the newly elected Assembly Minority Leader, Assemblyman Jim Wheeler of Assembly District 39.
Refreshments will be provided and we encourage anyone interested in meeting your local party and public officials to come out and join us.
Sea Glass Wire Wrapping Class

Thursday, September 28, 6:30-8:30 PM
Cost is $40 and all supplies are included.
This is an intermediate class for students who have already taken the beginning class.
We will use beautiful sea glass gathered from beaches in Bermuda, Mexico, California and various locations.
Class is limited to six students.

The class is at the Artsy Fartsy Creative Center, 220 A West Telegraph Street in Carson City.
Carson City Boy Scout Troop No. 16 meets Tuesdays at St. Teresa of Avila School

Nevada schoolchildren can participate in International Walk to School Day

Children not taking part in an organized school event are encouraged to involve their family in safely walking or bicycling to school on that Wednesday and other days.

After a long hiatus, the Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz has returned to Carson City, and is setting up shop inside Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint on Tuesday nights. Grab your smartest friends for a fun night of yummy drinks, great food, and nerdy competition. It's National Register to Vote Day - Carson residents can go to the County Clerk's office in the Courthouse. While you're there, head to the CCAI Gallery on the second floor to catch the last few days of the 'Industrial Art: Sports Edition' exhibit.
HUGE Rummage Sale and Man Tool Cave

Members, families and friends have donated quality items..furniture, kitchenware, Christmas Decorations and we have added a (Man Cave) a true "Garage Sale" with power tools, woodworking equipment/tools and garden tools with everything in between.
Items are not priced, instead buyers are asked to donate the amount that the item is worth, taking into consideration that ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser for Student Veterans Club of Western Nevada College

Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and a raffle drawing at 7 pm. Tickets are $10 per person and are available by contacting: Kevin Burns in the Veterans Resource Center at (775) 445-3302 or Rick Vlach. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m.
The event will be held at Veterans Memorial Hall located at Second and Curry streets in Carson City.
Sierra Lutheran Cross Country team attends meet in Idaho

The meet is named after Bob Firman, an icon in the XC community who has attended this meet for the past 43 years, handing out the awards.
Thomas the Tank Engine returns to Virginia City in October

Children everywhere can spend the day with their friend, Thomas, when the No. 1 Engine pulls into the Virginia and Truckee Railroad station in Virginia City for two weekends next month: Oct. 20-22 and Oct. 27-29.
