Throughout the school year, students at Pioneer High School have participated in JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates), a professional development course that creates pathways to success for youth.

Carson City arrests: Man jailed after hit and run for DUI, possession

A Carson City man was arrested Friday evening at 6:28 p.m. in the area of Silver Sage and Clearview for felony possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, misdemeanor driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs, misdemeanor hit-and-run with property damage, misdemeanor failure to stop at the signal of a law enforcement officer, and misdemeanor failure to obey a traffic control device, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.

Letters carriers unite for Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive to benefit FISH, Ron Wood center

On Saturday, May 13, letter carriers all over the country will be collecting food for the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the largest one day food drive in the nation. Letter carriers have collected over one billion pounds of food since the first food drive in 1998.

Prescribed fire operations to continue at Lake Tahoe beginning Monday

North Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Douglas fire protection districts, California State Parks, and the U.S. Forest Service may continue prescribed fire operations next week beginning May 1, 2017.

Head to Reno for a Cinco De Mayo Celebration at the Grand Sierra that features musicians, cuisine, and carnival rides.
