Independence Day Celebrations in the Carson City Area

Fourth of July celebrations abound in the Carson City area. Fireworks can be found in Carson City, Reno, Sparks, and at both north and south shore of Lake Tahoe. There are several daytime events going on as well, so grab the kids, friends, and family and have a great Independence Day weekend!

Emergency crews respond to accident in southbound lane of Carson City freeway at Fairview

UPDATE 5:39PM: Four vehicles were involved in the accident tonight in the southbound lane of I-580 near the Fairview exit. One person was being taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Carson City Fire Department, Nevada Highway Patrol and Carson City sheriff's deputies have responded to an injury accident tonight in the southbound lane of I-580 near the Fairview exit. Expect traffic delays in the southbound lane.
At least three people are reportedly injured. The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time. The accident was reported at around 5:20 p.m.

Fire restrictions begin Wednesday in the Lake Tahoe Basin

Fire restrictions on National Forest System lands in the Lake Tahoe Basin begin Wednesday, July 1, 2015, and will remain in effect until the official end of fire season, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
Campfires will be restricted to certain exempted recreation sites and other fire-related activities will be prohibited.

Tahoe boat inspection officials urge July 4 water craft to come in clean, drained and dry

The July 4th holiday and fireworks celebrations always bring a welcomed influx of boaters to the Lake Tahoe Basin. With sunny skies and warm temperatures predicted for the 4th of July holiday week, boaters are urged to Clean, Drain and Dry their boats before arriving at the roadside inspection stations in Tahoe to avoid delays and decontamination fees.
