Carson City health educator applauds decision by CVS to end sale of smokes, tobacco products
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 02/05/2014 - 11:33amCVS announced Wednesday that it will stop selling cigarettes and other tobacco products at its more than 7,600 pharmacies across the U.S. by Oct. 1, 2014, making CVS the first national pharmacy chain to take this step in support of the health and well-being of its patients and customers. There are three CVS pharmacies in Carson City.

The following two links can provide insight into the problem while ignoring the campaign slogans and political posturing. We need to start acting like men instead and assume the responsibility that all men have to protect innocent life. Children die when grown men act like children, instead of men.
Carson City Sheriff's Office detectives search for suspect in three robberies since Jan. 3
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 02/04/2014 - 4:42pmThe Carson City Sheriff’s Office is investigating three robberies of convenient stores that have suspect similarities, the latest on Sunday at Eagle Valley Market, which was also robbed on Jan. 18.
In a Jan. 3 robbery, the male suspect, race unknown, described as 5 foot, nine inches tall with a skinny build wearing a black knit cap, a bandana covering the face, black hoodie zip up sweatshirt, a grey under shirt, and dark colored pants entered the 7-Eleven store at 3838 Hwy 50 East at around 4:23 a.m.

Missing Douglas County woman found safe in Reno

A 22-year-old Douglas County woman is missing and authorities are asking for the public's help in finding her.
Katherine Kahler’s family has not heard from her in the last three weeks, and they say her disappearance is not like her, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Carson City man jailed on suspicion of domestic battery also had an arrest warrant
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 02/04/2014 - 12:16pmA 57-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 10:25 a.m. in the 900 block of South Carson Street on suspicion of domestic battery and having a confirmed warrant.
According to the arrest report, a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy was flagged down by security at a casino who advised there was a woman in the parking lot asking for police.
