Financial Guidance Center Education programs coming to Carson City

The classes will focus on financial literacy and education. All classes are free and will be held in the BRIC Conference Room A at 108 E. Proctor Street from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Care Flight called to pedestrian accident involving vehicle
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 02/20/2013 - 8:49pmCarson City emergency crews responded Wednesday night to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Washington and Stewart streets.
A Care Flight helicopter was ordered because of at least one injured in the accident. The accident happened at around 7:40 p.m.
The condition of the pedestrian is unknown at this time. The Care Flight helicopter will take them to Renown Medical Center in Reno. The landing site for Care Flight was to be the former Carson Tahoe Hospital.
Carson City sheriff's deputies have re-routed traffic at Stewart and Washington streets.

Makley brings the region’s many dimensions to life. The noted local author is the featured speaker at the February Frances Humphrey lecture series from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City, where he will explore the geology and natural history of Lake Tahoe and the people who shaped its history.

Carson City authorities make multiple weekend arrests
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Wed, 02/20/2013 - 11:10amA 39-year-old Las Vegas man faces a felony burglary charge after allegedly clipping security tags off several items of clothing at a Carson City department store and putting them on underneath his clothes.
Anthony Abruzzo was arrested Feb. 17, 8:28 p.m. in the 3800 block of Carson Street after security from a local department store called authorities about the man was believed to be taking shoes.
